Thank you Berrys & Welcome New Board

Bulldog Families,

Sadly, today, May 31st, marks the last day that Bert & Christyna Berry will be members of the West York Soccer Club Board. We would like to thank the both of them for their years of dedication and commitment to the youth of our soccer club. During their time with the WYSC they have helped teach the love of the game to countless kids in our community. Their knowledge of the ins and outs of the different leagues that make up our club as well as the day to day operations of our own club will be surely missed. We would like to wish them and their family the very best in their future endeavors.

Just like playing the game, when one player comes off the field you must replace them with someone that knows the position and can do their very best to hold the same high standards.

Our very own Tim Scripko Jr has been voted in by the members of our club as the new club President. He brings with him a vast knowledge and passion for soccer that you can see in person anytime he coaches. We look forward to what the future holds with Tim as our new President.

Emily Miller will be taking over the Secretary position from Christyna Berry. She knows she has very big shoes to fill but with her background we are confident she will do great things for the club with our great kids at the forefront of her mind with everything she does.

Also new to the board serving as Registrar is Heather Roe and At-Large Member is Bobbie Delp. Heather has served as registrar in the past and helps coach U11 boys.. Bobbie is new to the board, but has been involved in several years as a coach in both PAWS and now for U9 boys.

Thank you to all of our members for voting over the past couple of days. We all look forward to hopefully being able to move forward with soccer this fall. Please pay attention to your e-mail, Facebook and our website for some great things to come in the future.

Fall registration is now open. All players, including returning players, must registre via our new online platform https://system.gotsport.com/programs/84669C027

Spring Season Cancelled

Per the guidance of Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association, our governing organization, all soccer activities are closed through at least May 31st. As a result, our spring was cancelled by both our leages, York USA and Central Pennsylvania Youth Soccer League.

Suspended sanctioned soccer extends to all leagues and clubs. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Training

  • Organized kick arounds or fitness activities

  • Games or scrimmages

  • Tournaments

As we continue to get updates from our three governing organizations, EPYSA, CPYSL, and York USA, we will share it with you as soon as we can.

Please reach out to a coach or board member with any questions or concerns.

Volunteers for Board of Directors Needed

West York Bulldogs FC is completely run by volunteers and we need your help! We have several open board positions that will need to be filled come June, so we are asking for volunteers now. This will be a great opportunity for some of you to help keep Bulldogs FC running and successful. The open positions are as follows: President, Registrar, and At-Large Director #2.

Anyone filling these positions should be available the one evening a month for for our monthly club meetings. Here are brief descriptions of the open positions as outlined in our bylaws:

President: The president shall be the chief officer of WYSC, and shall preside at all meetings.  The president shall also have primary responsibility for enforcing the Bylaws, and all other rules, regulations, policies, guidelines, and directives enacted by the board, to appoint any vacancy which might occur until a meeting may be called to vote upon a replacement, and to cast the deciding vote on all issues which are deadlocked.  The president or his or her authorized designee shall attend required League meetings, and report on League business.

Registrar:  The registrar shall maintain all records of player and team registration for all WYSC travel teams in accordance with the rules of EPYSA or its successors and any other league any WYSC travel team affiliates with. Additional info not in our bylaws: The registrar will use an approved EPYSA database to register all U9 and older players, assign them to a team within that system, and submit necessary information to the designated league.

At-large Director #2- This director will act as a liaison between the WYSC and Fundraising committee. This director is not limited to this responsibility.

If you are interested in one of these positions, please contact Christyna Berry at westyorksoccer@gmail.com. If you have additional questions about the duties associated with a certain position, she would be happy to discuss them with you.
